Pendant and magnets

The pendant is one inch and the magnet is one and a half inch diameter. Yet another way to display my art. I can wear it :)

Monotangle - Rick's Paradox

This one was a lot of fun and a challenge just sticking to the one tangle!

Pattern book

I started this Moleskine as my tangle pattern book for two reasons. One is to have a book I can just flip through for inspiration. Two was to help learning the names for them all. Here are a few pages, more to come soon.

Latest moleskine page

This is the piece I have been working on since I finished the travel journal. The journal was a hit with it's recipient! I have been continuing my pattern book that I have been adding a square of every tangle so as you can imagine it's a long term project. I'm developing it as a one stop shop for all my patterns, but is taking time with so many beautiful tangles out there. Happy tangling! Must be time for a tile . . . Now I just have to decide regular, ATC, zendala and black or white!

Family travel journal for a friend

I have been working on this red moleskine cahier for two days. My very family orientated friend is off to New Zealand in 5 weeks so I have made this travel journal for her. My pen danced across the page and this is the result. Shame working full time interferes with my tangling

I had the honour of tangling with Gillian and Kit the weekend before last. Little old me with two CZTs! While there I purchased the new Zendala kit. I was so excited and have been impatiently waiting the release of these. Here is my first, with some colour!

The photo below is the detail of the Zendala® on my moleskine. The flash flare is due to the laminate. I was not happy with the centre, so I coloured it in and went in with white over the top.  Gillan Mee, CZT taught me this technique.  I am pleasantly suprised with the result, as I used a completely different tangle on black than I had on white. Tangles used in this piece are Rick's Paradox, Fescu and Printemps.

I love Moleskine journals. I recently bought several watercolour journals in the large size to tangle in.

One is for patterns, a sort of one stop shop for inspiration. It saves me flicking through multiple resources but is taking some time to complete as there are literally hundreds of tangles!

The other is for tangling in, and I bind them together with a bandolier I made to hold my tangle tools.

Yesterday I tangled one of the amazing Zendala® tiles and ran it through my Xyron with a laminate/permanent glue cartridge and stuck it to the front of my pattern book.

Today I  Zentangled my daughter's initial on her first Moleskine.

First work on porcelain

Using Porcelaine marker in fine point. I really enjoyed this, as I used to do a lot of china painting. It is dishwasher safe after baking in the oven.

Some of the tiles I have completed.  I love using the Zentangle ® kit as a backdrop for photographing my tiles.  It's simply perfect.

My first tangle, unbeknownst to me at the time

This is done in a tangle named scoodle. My natural tangle so to speak, as I have been doing it for years.

My name is Nette, and I am a Zentangle ® addict.  I first found Zentangle® throught the beautiful Kit, on facebook.  Browsing I discovered some of her work, and Kit (CZT) introduced me to the wonderful art of Zentangle®  Through a love of Zentangle ® Kit and I have become true, firm friends.

Zentangle® is the creation of Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas, as a form of meditation through deliberate repetition of drawing pattens, and I am in love with it. It is my passion, my hobby, my entertainment and my therapy.

I am not yet a  CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher) but am saving up both the money and holidays to become one.  If you wish to contact a CZT, please follow this link for a full listing of CZTs

I had actually been creating Zentangle® like creations for some time, but the Zentangle® method takes the experience to a new level, and be warned, it is extremely addictive!
